The George Mitchell Nature Preserve is a new park at the south edge of The Woodlands. Located at 5171 Flintridge, there's a nice walk/bike trail through the preserve, perhaps a mile long.

The trail is suitable only for wide-tired bicycles. It's four to eight feet wide. The surface is mostly wood or pine mulch over clay; the entryway is gravel over clay; a few short stretches are soft sand a few inches deep.

I saw one copperhead sunning along the path edge.
